Use it to manage your student connections, update school portal credentials, and customize exactly when and where your reports are sent. ## Your Students This section lists all students detected from your school portal. The status icon next to each name tells you their current connection state: * **Green Check:** The student is successfully linked. GPA Coach is actively monitoring their data. * **Grey Minus:** The student is not yet set up. If you do not want reports for this student, you can leave them in this state. To start generating reports, click **Setup**. * **Red Warning:** There is an error connecting to the student's Learning Management System (usually an expired password). Click **Fix** to update their credentials. ### Student Options Click the **three dots (⋮)** menu on the right side of any linked student to access these actions: * **Run Report Now:** Generates a fresh report immediately and emails it to all recipients. Perfect for checking status before a big conversation. * **Report History:** View a log of previous reports sent for this student. * **Update Credentials:** Use this if the student's LMS password has changed. * **Unlink Student:** Removes the connection and stops reports for this student. ## Linked Portals This section manages the connection to your school's parent portal, such as Aeries or PowerSchool. * **Update Credentials:** If you change your parent portal password, update it here to ensure GPA Coach can still discover students. * **Unlink:** disconnects your account from the school entirely. ## Report Configuration Customize how and when you receive updates. * **Schedule:** Select specific days of the week and the exact time you want reports to arrive. * **Recipients:** Add email addresses for anyone else who needs to stay in the loop (e.g., partners, tutors, or the student themselves). * **Pause Reports:** Toggle this **On** to temporarily stop all reports (e.g., during summer break). To get started with GPA Coach, you'll need to link your school and student accounts so the Coach can gather the necessary data to generate insightful reports. After you [sign up for an account](https://www.gpa.coach/) you will be guided through a simple three-step onboarding process. ## Prerequisites To set up your account, you will need credentials for two systems: * The username/password for the school's parent portal (e.g., Aeries). * The username/password for the learning platform (e.g., Canvas) for each student. ## Setup Steps First, the Coach will connect to your school's parent portal. * Select your school from the list of schools. * Log in with your parent portal credentials. * GPA Coach will automatically detect and discover all students associated with your family. Next, the Coach will connect to your student's Learning Management System (like Google Classroom) so it can be informed of missed work, upcoming assignments, and more. * You will see a list of students detected in the previous step. Tap **Setup** on a student to begin. * Log in with the student's credentials. * Optionally repeat this for more students. * Each student linked successfully shows a green **'Linked'** status next to their name. The Coach will generate reports for these students. Finally, tell the Coach when to generate reports and who should receive them. * **Schedule:** Choose which days you want reports and what time they should arrive. * **Recipients:** Add email addresses for anyone else who should receive reports (e.g., a spouse, tutor, or the student themselves). ## What happens next? Once you click **Finish**, the Coach will generate reports at the scheduled time and send them to the inboxes you specified. You can access your account settings by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner of the dashboard and selecting **Account**. ## Profile Details This section manages your identity on the platform. * **Profile Photo:** Update the avatar associated with your account. * **Email Addresses:** Manage the emails you use to log in. You can add multiple addresses (e.g., linking both a personal and work email) to ensure you never lose access. * **Connected Accounts:** Link or unlink social providers like **Google** or **Apple**. This allows you to use "One-Click Sign In" instead of remembering a specific password. ## Security Use these tools to keep your GPA Coach account secure. * **Password:** Update your main login password. * **Active Devices:** View a list of all computers and phones currently logged into your account. * **Suspicious Activity?** If you see a device you don't recognize, or if you forgot to log out on a public computer, click the **Terminate** (or delete) icon next to that device to force a logout immediately. ### **Delete Account** Permanently delete your account and all associated data. This action is permanent. If you see an "Invalid Credentials" error when trying to link an account, it usually means the username or password doesn't match what the school system expects. Follow these steps to fix it. ## 1. Test your login on the school website Before trying again in GPA Coach, open a new browser tab and try to log in directly to the official website for the service you are trying to link (e.g., the Aeries portal or Google Classroom). * **If you cannot log in there:** You likely need to reset the password with the school district first. * **If you CAN log in there:** Proceed to the next step. ## 2. Check for "Parent" vs. "Student" accounts School systems often have separate login pages or usernames for Parents and Students. * **Linking a Parent Portal:** Ensure you are using your **Parent** login credentials. * **Linking a Student:** Ensure you are using the **Student's** login credentials (often their school email address). ## 3. Check for typos * Ensure **Caps Lock** is off. * Check for accidental **spaces** at the start or end of your username. * If you use a password manager (like LastPass or Chrome Autofill), try typing the password manually to be sure. ## 4. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Does your school require you to enter a code from a text message or email every time you log in? **GPA Coach currently does not support accounts with mandatory 2FA enabled.** We are working on this for future updates. ## Still stuck? They undergo regular third-party penetration testing to ensure your credentials are safe. * **Isolation:** The database that manages your schedule and students does not hold your passwords.
